Diamond (Pro) of the Sierra
Professional Category (male or female) 6 minute time limit. Middle Eastern music only (no alternative music). Promotes or advertises self as a teacher or professional performer. Zills/Sagat are required and must be played during some part of the performance.  Other props may be used but are not required and will not be given extra points for their use. 

Emerald (Live Music) of the Sierra
Any exp., and age (male or female) approx. 6 minute time limit. You will not be able to discuss your sets with the musicians.  This is improvisation. Zills/Sagat are not required, but may be used.  Other props may be used, but are not required. Please do not contact the band (Flowers of the Nile), you will not be allowed to pick your music set.  

Sapphire (Non-pro) of the Sierra
Non-professional category (male or female) 5 minutes time limit.  Middle Eastern music only (no alternative music).    Does not perform for money on a regular basis and does not teach.  Zills/Sagat are not required but may be used.  Other props may be used but are not required. 

Ruby (Troupe) of the Sierra
7 minute time limit. For all levels of dancers performing as a troupe/group (three or more performers). All dancers must be dancing through entire performance except for short transitions and no solos will be allowed. Middle Eastern Music only (no alternative music).  Zills/Sagat are not required, but may be used.  Other props may be used but are not required.
 

Crystal (Fusion) of the Sierra
Fusion is fusion in the catagory. You can fuse different music (alternative) and dance styles with Bellydance. 50% of your show must be Bellydance movements. Props are ok, no fire. Have fun and be creative! 5 minute time limit.
